A Synopsis

Alexandra Tayrien was born in San Diego, California in 1984.  During childhood, she lived in San Diego, Pagosa Springs, Colorado, and Hampton, Virginia.  In 1992, Alexandra moved to Canandaigua, New York.

Upon graduating 5th in her class from Canandaigua Academy in 2002, Alexandra attended one year at Boston College.  She returned to school in 2005, attending Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado.  While at Western, Alexandra ran NCAA Division II Cross Country and Track and volunteered with the Gunnison Valley Animal Welfare League.  In May 2009, Alexandra graduated from WSC with a triple major in Mathematics, Economics, and Computer Information Science.  She finished with a 4.0 GPA and received the Alumni Award for Excellence.

Alexandra currently resides in Gunnison with her boyfriend, dog, and two cats, and occasionally continues to enjoy running and racing, completing the 2009 Chicago Marathon in 3:24:20.  She has also recently taken up road biking, completing her first century ride in late August 2010, and was the third female to finish the 135-mile Mountains to the Desert Ride in September 2010.  She finished as the first female in the May 2011 Pedal to Paradise Gran Fondo.

Alexandra recently started a new position as an appraiser for Gunnison County; she looks forward not only to summertime trips around the county, but to the abundance of data and mathematical formulae.  In addition to (and coincidental with) other responsibilities, Alexandra is also involved in freelance web and graphic design.  Feel free to peruse work samples from Nirvasana Yoga and elsewhere, and contact her with any questions.
